Details of Training Packages
All O’Brien Consulting trainers are qualified, experienced educationalists with significant experience in their field. Managing Director Phill is a Master of Education (Birmingham University) and he is responsible for oversight of all teaching, training and learning delivery. All training and development packages address both service delivery and employment specific duties unless otherwise stated.
Training packages are best designed to meet clients needs and we are happy to discuss your bespoke needs however present training packages being delivered include:
Equality and Diversity
- An introduction Equality and diversity, focusing on movement from legislative compliance to best practice. Focused at practitioners and first line employees, dealing with bullying, harassment and the promotion of inclusion in the work place. By the end of this session participants will understand their roles in promoting equality and diversity.
- Equality and Diversity for managers. What is your role, how can equality and diversity help you deliver on your performance indicators. By the end of this session managers and directors will understand the context; of equality and diversity, be aware of how it can be used to deliver business outcomes and begin developing an action plan for the business / their department.
Recruitment and Selection
- An introduction to criterion based selection for people new to line management. By the end of this session participants will be able to undertake short listing, interview and selection functions in a manner that provides appropriate evidence based selection data.
- Recruitment and selection for managers and directors. By the end of this session managers and directors will understand the implications of this important management function and a be able to develop a strategy suited to their workplace.
Legislation Specific Training
An introduction to Disability Discrimination, Race Relations Amendment Act, Age Equality Regulations etc. (you specify the legislation specific to your needs). By the end of the session participants will understand the implications of the of the legislation to their role and or for their business.
Social Care
- Protection of Vulnerable Adults
- A training and development package for managers of services supporting vulnerable adults. What do you need to do to make your services as safe as you are able. By the end of this session you will have developed an action plan for making your services safer.
- Alerters training. Designed for people working directly with vulnerable adults. What to look for and how to respond.
- Personal Relationships and Sexuality. A training course aimed at people working with vulnerable adults in community care settings designed to ensure that personal relationships and sexuality are dealt with in an anti oppressive manner.
Child Care
Basic Child Protection. A level one course designed for people working in child care or play settings. This course is also suitable for volunteers who may come into contact with children. By the end of the session participants will understand what to look out for and how to respond when a child makes an allegation.
